Acting for Others

Inspiring change through theater

TRUER THAN LIGHT

In collaboration with The Miracle Project, a non-proift theater company for young artists with autism and other special needs, we developed an original production which explored living with autism. This profound piece was developed and performed by young artists with autism. Through poetry, movement, and improv they were able to tell their story.

OUTBOUND TO WONDERLAND

To raise support for The San Diego EyeMobile, a mobile eye clinic that travels around San Diego County providing free eye care to young children in need. AFO raised donations for free eye care and eyeglasses through a standing room only performance at The La Jolla Playhouse with the world premier of Outbound to Wonderland directed/written by Cody Braudt.

THE COMPLETE WORKS OF SHAKESPEARE (ABRIDGED)

Benefiting The San Diego Free Medical Clinic,  an organization that provides free health care, social services, and health education to underserved families in San Diego.  AFO raised support for medicine and supplies through the hilarious comedy The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged)

           THE PRINCESS AND THE PEA

This production supported Operation Hope, at the time, the only homeless shelter for specifcally women and children in North San Diego County. The amount raised through this production of The Princess and the Pea enabled the shelter to build a room devoted to homework/studying.  Click the photo to read more about the production from an article in a local newspaper.

      ALICE IN WONDERLAND

Raising support and awareness for Responsibility, an organization that has created a school for children living in the Tijuana garbage dumps. AFO was able to raise enough donations through Alice in Wonderland that Responsibility could create a summer school program. Click the photo to read more about the production from an article in a local newspaper.  We made the front page!

MACBETH THE MUSICAL COMEDY

Benefiting Stand Up For Kids, a charity that tends to homeless teens and children in San Diego. This incredible organization provides shelter, food, counseling, school supplies, etc to young adults and kids in need. Bringing back our production of Macbeth; A Musical Comedy we were able to raise funds for backpacks filled with school/personal supplies.

ALIBABA AND THE MAGIC CAVE

Raising support for Casa de Amparo, an emergency shelter for abused and abandoned children in Oceanside, CA. AFO raised money for the shelter's residents to have school supplies.

MACBETH THE MUSICAL COMEDY
